Wrapping up with a fun New Year!

So this year for New Year's eve, we decided to go chill- just had 4 of our closest friends over for a dinner party before watching the ball drop on live stream. We watched funny YouTube videos in between the two events of food and midnight. haha

I got kind of a quick ambitious streak the day before, and decided to deck the place out in blue, silver and white. I got basically everything I needed to decorate from either around the house, or the dollar store (total bill- less than $35- and that includes the plates and martini glasses, which I also got at the dollar store.)
Since it was just 6 adults, we squeezed all around our round table.

I really wanted to do something fun for the buffet table, so I dressed up some items I had already from Christmas, added tinsel galore, and created this simple banner the day of News Years Eve.

As for the plates- originally I longed to find clocks to put under them, after seeing a cute Pinterest post here using that, but sadly both dollar stores in our area didn't have any. So I decided to create something for the adult-ness- a blue shot for everyone to take. Personally, I think this was the coolest part of my setup of the night. I created these little stripes of paper (which everyone could write their resolutions down) and the blue stripe I wrote my little ditty "Take a shot at... a New Year in 2013!"

I thought it turned out super cute with the margarita salt (snow) and snowflake in the background.

I also decorated the side desk in the dining room too- using up my adorable small stands.

Menu wise, this is what we had:

Drinks:
Wine, Champagne, Soda, Water

Apps:
Cheese, Crackers, Quiche (brought by our friends Dave and Cat)

Dinner:
Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Mac & Cheese, Roasted Potatoes, Rice & Black Beans

Dessert:
Chocolates and Assorted Cheesecake

(got to wear my adorable pink sparkle boots with pink sparkle tank!)

(Also the day before I took a gamble and added some red undertones to the underside of my hair. Not noticable, but subtle enough.)

All in all, it was a great night, and can I say that Moscato Champagne is awesome!

(Maybe I'll post more pics from my good camera later, but for now, enjoy some iphone/instagram pics of the night).

Welcome 2013! May you be awesome!

Happy New Year everyone!
